Organization description

TPS Eastern Region at Waynesburg University provides professional development and grant opportunities encompassing K–12 schools, institutions of higher learning, and non-profit education organizations. TPS-ER’s professional development opportunities include TPS BASICS, an asynchronous, online course, and TPS Leadership Institute, an online course that includes synchronous and asynchronous components. TPS Consortium grants coordinated by TPS-ER include Regional Grants (up to $25,000), Impact Mini-Grants (up to $2,500), and Professional Development Mini-Grants (up to $2,000). Project description

Professional Development provided by TPS-ER focuses on:

Selecting primary sources from www.loc.gov and utilizing them in day-to-day instruction;
Applying knowledge of TPS materials and methods to peer coaching and professional development presentations;
Adapting and delivering TPS professional development and creating effective coaching relationships that meet the needs of adult learners;
Providing educators with the knowledge, skills, and aspirations to use Library of Congress TPS content in various educational settings;
Using a variety of coaching techniques to support educators in the use of Library of Congress primary sources and TPS strategies.
