Panel and Discussion – 2024 Library TPS Projects: Recent Library grantees: Brad Fogo, San Francisco State University; David Olson, Retro Report; and Tamara Shreiner, Grand Valley State University, describe their TPS project goals and activities. Meeting attendees ask questions and offer suggestions in a discussion moderated by TPS Advisory Board members Salika Lawrence and Bert Snow.

11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Guided Networking Activity: TPS Network staff describe the role that the Network can play in identifying and sharing information with prospective partners. TPS Teachers Network Checklist.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Lunch Keynote Speech: Tom Bober discusses how his experiences as a TPS summer teacher institute participant and Library of Congress Teacher-in-Residence continue to inform his work as a school librarian and author.

1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Center for the Book Presentation: Missouri Center for the Book Director Lisa Carrico describes the activities of her organization.

1:15p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Library Staff Presentation: Program Specialist Eileen Manchester and Educational Resources Specialist Cheryl Lederle from the Professional Learning and Outreach Initiatives Office (PLOI) discuss approaches to partnering with the Library.

2:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Networking: Meeting attendees engage in unstructured networking.

3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Breakout Sessions: TPS Consortium members participate in breakout discussions focused on:

  • The Nuts and Bolts of Administering a TPS Project
    Facilitators: Salika Lawrence and Bert Snow (Room Sterling 2)
  • Outreach to Local Educators and Organizations

  • Tapping into Library and Consortium Resources

  • Exploring Partnerships with Other Consortium Members

Debrief: Attendees reconvene at tables to share key takeaways from breakout sessions and the meeting.
