Organization description

The Youthful Offenders Unit (YOU) School is based in central Mississippi and serves justice-impacted youth with adult sentences. Through a collaboration with the Mississippi Humanities Council, I offer a history course for students and prepare them for National History Day.

Project description

Our TPS project supports this course and the National History Day regional competition at the YOU School. Students will engage with primary source booklets created from various civil rights collections at the Library of Congress and participate in courses and workshops led by a series of facilitators.
