Organization description

Street Law has more than 50 years of experience developing programs and curricula that teach young people about the law and how to use it as a positive force in their lives. We do work in five areas: teacher professional development, legal community partnerships, legal life skills, global law and democracy programs, and curricula and teaching materials.

Project description

Street Law’s Legal Timelines website seeks to provide students with a deeper understanding of legal issues and how legal history has led to where we are today. The site has several thematic timelines detailing legal history and its progression over time. Themes include: Federalism, Suffrage, the Rights of the Accused, Presidential Powers, and Students’ Rights. Each thematic timeline can also be paired with several inquiry-based sets of resources that incorporate Library of Congress resources.
