Organization description

The Georgia Council on Economic Education (GCEE) is a statewide non-profit with the mission of helping teachers teach economics and personal finance. We’ve been achieving this mission since 1972 by offering teachers engaging in-person and virtual workshops, classroom-tested lesson plans and materials and unique teacher experiences including guest speakers, tours of various facilities, and other opportunities for professional development.

Project description

Our initial TPS project was to create a series of lessons designed to help U.S. History and Economics Teachers by incorporating a variety of economics concepts into U.S. History Lessons. Five full lessons and one review activity were developed and have been enthusiastically received by teachers all over Georgia. Topics include fiscal policy and modern presidencies, resource allocation and colonial times, entrepreneurship and technological change over various time periods, land usage and westward expansion, and a fun “bracket challenge” review activity.
