C.L.A.S.S. Outside, Inc. is a Metro- Atlanta based nonprofit educational organization dedicated to expanding knowledge, instructional practices, and cultural competency through experiential learning opportunities, historical site exploration, and educational travel. C.L.A.S.S. Outside is an acronym for Creative Learning for Arts and Social Sciences Outside. We alternative to traditional intructional enviornments, connecting classroom instruction with real-world experiences to enhance student engagement, academic achievement, personal development, and civic engagement. It aims to serve as a comprehensive educational and community institution, also offering programs and trainings for public and private school officials, home-schooling parents, to expand knowledge, instructional practices, and cultural competency through experiential learning opportunities. Our core values are education, community and service.

Project description

With S.T.E.M courses given priority, it is imperative to revitalize the appreciation for  Liberal Arts and Social Sciences’  amongst the younger generation. Therefore, Our Primary Sources -2- Public History initiative exposes people aged 17-24 to creative, innovative, and interactive learning experiences. C.L.A.S.S Outside is an attempt to effectively embed digital and public history into educational curriculums.  The goal of this initiative is to connect people, history and culture through primary sources, from databases like the Library of Congress, and enrinching content knowlegde with public history, cultural displays, interactive workshops to expand not only the mastery of curriculum but the appreciation for their community and the world. The mission of the project is to empower underserved youth and young adults, educators and parents, by offering the additional outside services and resources to improving their historical thinking skills, and unlock potential through connecting curriculum to lived experiences.
