Organization description
The African American Civil War Museum has a mission to correct the great wrong that ignored the role that soldiers of the United States Colored Troops played in keeping America united and ending slavery in the United States. The Museum led the effort to build a memorial dedicated to the United States Colored Troops. The memorial list the names of those 209,145 soldiers and is today managed by the National Park Service.
